Breakfast at Cozzi Market: The Buffet Morning That Set Up Our Whole Day

A long, slow buffet breakfast that set us up for a full day of play, with the kind of fruit selection I’m still thinking about.

Breakfast on our second morning was at Cozzi Market, and it ended up being one of those meals that quietly sets the tone for everything after it. We had a huge day ahead, Chiao-hu Wonderland and then Xpark, but we still managed to slow down and enjoy it properly, which is how a buffet is supposed to go.

Our family loves a good buffet, and this one gave us plenty to work with. The spread ran wide, with both Western and local options, so everyone found something. The drinks alone kept the boys going, with a big range of juices and a Yakult smoothie they were weirdly thrilled about. There was yogurt in flavors like passionfruit, plus pastries covering both Western and traditional styles. My favorite part, though, was the fruit. It was local and ripe, and it ended up being the thing I keep thinking about.

Our boys are turning into proper little foodies these days, so I half expected one of them to make a beeline for something unusual. Instead, with a full spread in front of them, the thing that got them most excited was the cereal. Of course it was. They tried a bit of everything in the end, but the cereal and that Yakult smoothie were the clear winners.

And then, right on cue, the robots turned up again. This one came around to clear away dirty plates. By this point in the trip the boys had decided the robots were the best thing about the whole hotel, so a plate-collecting robot at breakfast went down very well.

The room itself is spacious, with plenty of tables, and even though there were a lot of people in there it never felt crowded or rushed. That made it easy to linger, which is exactly what we did before heading off for the day.

By the time we were done, everyone was happy and ready for the day. That breakfast really did feel like it set us up well, and looking back, the slow start was a big part of why the rest of the day went so smoothly.

Good to know

  • The spread covers both Western and local food, so both picky and adventurous eaters are sorted.
  • It’s spacious and rarely feels crowded, but if you’ve got a packed day ahead, give yourself enough time to sit and enjoy it instead of rushing.
  • The boys’ favorites were the cereal and the Yakult smoothie, so those are easy wins if you’re bringing kids.
